November 16th - the day we transferred our first beautiful embryo baby (embaby). This was such an incredible day to be able to witness and experience the beginning of the next chapter of our lives. To be able to watch the embryo (your possible future baby) from this stage be implanted into your uterus was the most indescribable experience we have ever had!
I had taken a valium an hour before transfer to calm the nerves and relax the muscles as much as possible. We went in for our 'procedure' and we were done within about 15 minutes. The doctor inserts a speculum, similar to a pap smear, and passes a small catheter into the uterus where the embryo is then implanted. Corey and I were able to watch this live in action. There was little to no pain at all during this implantation.
Following the procedure we went about our normal day, taking it easy but also wanted to get some movement in as research has proven better implantation rates with light or moderate activity following a transfer as opposed to bed rest. The following days went by incredibly slow with slight cramping here and there (no pain!) along with fatigue. I now know these were the first signs of pregnancy and successful implantation.
